The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Watched a dvd yesterday. This was after a struggle of will against my immediate urge to reverse the dvd cover so that it was on the correct way and the dvd was in the right place when you opened the flap, there in front of you, not clinging to the lid like a scared puppy. Stupid obsessive compulsive tendencies...it took a few seconds of standing there arguing with myself but the sensible me won in the end...well it was the smart me too as it sucked up to lazy me and as we all know he is the me with the most levels, gotta stop giving him so much xp....

Anyways after watching the meat and vegies of the movie I couldn't stand to go through what was obviously going to be a "mooving" "emotional" reunion and happily ever after Holllywood ending type of bulllshit fest so I reached for the dvd remote and hit stop....then rewind...

*slaps forehead*
